THE PROGRAM

One. THE PROGRAM is not just about looking good or losing weight, it is about testing your body and changing to  a healthy lifestyle. The goal is to feel good about your body inside and out.

Two. There are steps to making the change you may have to go slow or maybe your like me and you just gotta do it full force.

Three. Do not do anything your body can not handle. If  I am at week 8 and running 10 minutes but your lungs are murdering you after 3 stop at three  walk for 30 seconds or 1 minute and then run again. It is not worth hurting yourself. Now on the other side of this do not use it as an excuse to give up. Once we tell ourselves we can not do something we can not do it. Think of the little engine. If you need to can  I think  I can to get over the hill DO IT!

Four. Get out all the junk food in your house. It is there calling your name. This is not good. Think of junk food and sweets as the little devil sitting on your shoulder. Get him out!

Five. For every 2 lbs lost you get a free day or any goal met such as being able to run a certain amount of time without feeling as though your going to die. On free days you get to eat however you want. Be careful though because your body will not be use to different types of food. So it will cause stomachaches.

Six. Meal Ideas are just ideas, there are many healthy choices out there that  I will not name, point is  if it is not processed  it is healthy for you

Look at that only six different guidelines. That should be easy!  This is week one of THE PROGRAM. This week the goal is to walk 4 days for 44 minutes each day. ( I kept it to the 4's to help you remember). Now this will get harder (once  I am cleared by the doc). Thank you for taking this challenge with me! Set your goals  so that you can earn your free day and then get to walking!

The First Time

Hello all! This is the first post. As you can guess from the title of the blog  I am a new mother of a beautiful little girl. I am now a teacher and a mother and learning that motherhood takes on whole new talents and jobs. However, like most people who go into labor I had a plan. I was going to have her the "old fashioned way" but after  42 hours of labor and still no baby they decided that they had to cut me open. So now instead of working out and being able to do a whole bunch of housework and full "motherhood" I am limited in what  I am allowed to do. Fortunately walking is still allowed!

In an effort to get my old body back (which I know is almost next to impossible after having a baby) I rounded up my family to join me  in THE PROGRAM for lack of a better name! My goal is to run the entire 5k here in Delaware in October. It will be slow going and tedious but  I am hoping to accomplish my goal.  I am going to outline THE PROGRAM here for you! There are of course guidelines and workouts and suggested things to eat. But  I am hopeful that by October  I will feel great!
